The crazy thing is we’re inclined to believe them. Social networks are pretty much ubiquitous with everyday life now. And although it seems like one is popping up in your face every other day, this one might actually stick, not suck and benefit you. There’s even a social network for keeping up with the latest Kardashian divorce (Twitter). What makes NextDoor unique is that it only links people by neighborhoods. Its Facebook meets Zillow meets Yelp. NextDoor gives neighbors a forum to ask anyone in their community questions and exchange recommendations. The concept is pretty easy to understand. They’ve built a trusted network, that’s secure. The company has stated they’ve taken important measures to protect the privacy of all users. Hyper-local networking is nothing new, but with these social sites popping up, it is a great time to get in on the ground floor.
