In addition to accelerating weight loss, detoxifying can help heal migraines, stomach trouble, colds, and joint pain. It may also be effective against heart disease and arthritis. Our bodies can perform miracles but only if you do your best to keep out the things that wreak havoc.

In order to achieve detoxification for purposes of weight loss, eating the right kinds of foods is as important as avoiding the wrong kinds of foods. You may find that there are some foods you have never even tried that will help you lose weight, and many foods you think are healthy might actually be hindering your weight loss goals. Whatever your diet may be, following the tips below as a blueprint will help you achieve detoxification and get results.

Detoxification Tip #1: Avoid Toxic Foods
Sugar, milk, eggs, wheat products, gluten, and caffeine-filled beverages all take a toll on your body if ingested on a daily basis. You must also avoid foods with preservatives, yeast, chocolate, and anything that is high in fat. Just giving up alcohol alone will ensure that you will lose weight. You will begin to realize that most of the foods you will need to avoid are the ones that made you fat in the first place.

Detoxification Tip #2: Avoid Expensive Cleaning Programs
Your bodys’ organs are designed to detox without any help from branded pills, so refrain from falling victim to expensive detoxifying pills and potions. Most of these products have no scientific foundation to back up their claims and we all know that nothing in life come easy. Your own liver, kidneys, skin, intestines and lungs are designed to remove and excrete toxins within hours of consumption. They do not need the help of pills.

Detoxification Tip #3: Drink More Water
If you simply drink more water (at least 2 liters a day) your skin would look better and you would feel healthier. When your body is properly hydrated, it can preform miracles. Drinking lots of water is one way to detox naturally, just like avoiding bad foods. Drinking fruit juices and power drinks will not help you detoxify because most of them contain the same sugar and preservatives that is keeping you fat. Focus on plain old ice water.

Detoxification Tip #4: Consume Nutrition Foods
Try to replace all those bad foods listed above with raw fruits and vegetables, unsweetened fruit juices, brown rice, soy, lean chicken and turkey and fish. Remember how water is important? Well, fruits and vegetables are loaded with water, so eating them kills two birds with one stone. This does not mean you can never eat a slice of pizza ever again. But if you want to detoxify your body, pizza should not be on your dinner plate every night.

Detoxification Tip #5: Drink Green Tea
