Traditional MLMs, network marketing or home based businesses seem to be going downhill in popularity. The representative retention rate is not a pretty number. The monthly residuals are miniscule considering the time and effort that you are expending on recruiting, training and supporting your team members.

Fact: 97% of all MLMers, network marketers or home based business entrepreneurs earn $10 or less per week. Only 3% will be considered the top money earners. 3%. That’s insane.

My wife and I have over 15 years experience in network marketing.

Our first venture was in a products based network marketing company. Although it was considered the pioneer in the network marketing field and in spite of our tremendous efforts at building our team, we could never get that monthly residual check above a couple of hundred dollars. I would always joke with my wife that we should have joined the Peace Corps as we would have earned more per hour than we were in our network marketing/MLM business. Needless to say, neither of us quit our day job.

The next network marketing business opportunity was in the telecommunications field. We ran hard with this and quickly advanced to one of their Executive Director leadership positions. While making a part-time income in the mid-five figures annually, we realized that almost all of this extra income came from recruitment bonuses. Our monthly residual income from hundreds of team members’ customers telephone usage was in the fifty dollar range. Still not enough to quit our day job.

That is when it hit us. We were nothing more than cheap sales labor for these billion dollar MLM companies. Sure we were in our own business but the terms of our compensation was dictated to us by pay plans which paid us pennies for selling their lotions, potions and pills…or less than pennies when it came to long distance telephone usage.

Both of us enjoyed the concept of networking: educating, training and supporting our team members. What saddened us the most is when our representatives came to the realization that making so little on each sales transaction within their groups was not producing anywhere near the residual income they had envisioned. Needless to say, they fell into the 97% pool, their dreams drowned and they would leave the business.

Over the past few years, we have searched the internet looking for some type of business model that incorporated working from home, leading others to a financially secure future and generate income of hundreds of dollars for each product sold as opposed to MLM pennies. A business opportunity that would be embraced by disenchanted employees, those seeking more in their lives, business owners and professionals as well.

What we found was that there were Top Tier business opportunities lead by top internet marketers having monthly incomes usually exceeding annual incomes of most of us. These Top Tier products being offered not only are in demand but offer a huge commission, not MLM pennies per transaction.

Besides the superlative online marketing training and mentoring, most Top Tier programs provide websites which operate 24/7/365. They essentially sift out the tire kickers from the players. (Our Top Tier program also has a call center staffed by professional business consultants who will assist you by contacting all system generated prospects and “sealing the deal”. Perhaps other programs offer this service as well.)

If you are considering an MLM or network marketing opportunity (or are currently in one) and realize that the money you would receive is not worth your time and effort, definitely look into a potentially lucrative Top Tier Opportunity.
